REQUEST FOR INFORMATION #1-21 Quadra and Cortes Island Sea Level Rise Study
The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to collect information from interested parties. Note that the information requested is for information purposes only. The SRD intends to apply for $150,000 through the 2021 Community Emergency Preparedness Fund Flood Risk Assessment, Flood Mapping & Flood Mitigation Planning grant application to fund a sea level rise study for Quadra Island (189km of shoreline) and Cortes Island (162km of shoreline).
Raw Lidar data is available for Quadra Island through the 2018 National Disaster Mitigation Program study, but no Lidar data is available for Cortes Island. The purpose of this RFI is to inquire about the estimated cost of obtaining the necessary Lidar data to study sea level rise on Cortes Island and if the potential cost of this project can be reasonably funded through the UBCM grant.
All spatial data acquired/produced with CEPF funds must meet BC LiDAR standards and be provided to the Province of BC with free and clear access and distribution rights, specifically a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify and distribute, any and all of the spatial data products acquired/produced using CEPF funding.
The information received through this RFI will influence the SRD’s 2021 Community Emergency Preparedness Fund Flood Risk Assessment, Flood Mapping & Flood Mitigation Planning grant application. Proponents who submit information for this RFI will receive 40 of 100 points on the SRD’s Request for Proposal should they bid on the tender released if the SRD’s grant application is successful.
