The Building Department of the Strathcona Regional District (SRD) is responsible for regulating the construction, alteration, repair or demolition of buildings and structures within the region’s electoral areas. Community Planning Services provides land use planning services to the residents of the Strathcona Regional District.
It is the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure all planning and construction conforms to the SRD Bylaws as well as the province of British Columbia’s Building Code, 2012 edition. For more information on building inspections, permits, bylaws and applications, click here.
The range of land use planning services provided includes zoning bylaw review and implementation, preparation and review of Official Community and Local Area Plans, working with volunteer Advisory Planning Commissions, processing development applications and providing daily counter and telephone inquiry service to the public.
