Public Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 the Board of Directors for the Strathcona Regional District may proceed with final passage and adoption of Bylaw No. 468 which would amend certain provisions contained in its meeting procedures bylaw.
Bylaw No. 468 proposes to amend Bylaw No. 1, being Regional Board Procedure Bylaw 2011 by:
- Redefining the Regional Board’s inaugural meeting to be the first meeting held after November 1 each year;
- Adding a first nation territorial acknowledgement to the order of proceedings for each meeting;
- Restricting the vote on a reconsideration motion to those directors entitled to vote based on the subject matter of the motion proposed to be reconsidered; and
- Removing the current prohibition against reconsidering a motion for the reading or adoption of a bylaw.
Those persons who wish to object to the passage of Bylaw No. 468 or who believe that the proposed amendments are not in the public interest may file a written objection with the Regional District before 12:00 noon on Friday, July 8, 2022 for consideration by the Regional Board.
