Areas affected: The subject property is located at 5400 Duncan Bay Road, Campbell River BC and is legally described as Lot 1, District Lot 130, Sayward District, Plan 36418 as shown on the map below.
Purpose: Bylaw No. 408, if adopted, would re-designate Lot 1, District Lot 130, Sayward District, Plan 36418 from Agriculture to Industrial. Bylaw No. 409, if adopted, would rezone the aforementioned from Rural Twenty (RU-20) to Industrial One (IN-1) to bring the property into compliance with the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw and allow existing industrial activities on the property to remain.
Copies of the proposed bylaws and related information are available for inspection by appointment at the Strathcona Regional District Customer Service Centre, located at #102 – 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from November 4, 2020 until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 (excluding the public holiday on Wednesday, November 11, 2020).
The public hearing will be held by a delegation of Electoral Area directors representing the Strathcona Regional District Board. Attendance at the public hearing will be available virtually by pasting this link into your internet browser: https://srd.ca/meetnow Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaws will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing virtually via the link and/or telephone number provided above and through a call-in feature as provided during the comments portion of the hearing.
Written submissions from persons who are attending the hearing virtually must be delivered by hand or electronically to the Regional District office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in order to be considered as part of the public hearing record. The Strathcona Regional District cannot consider any representations made after the close of the public hearing.
