Areas affected by proposed Bylaws: The subject areas are legally described as Part Sections 25 and 26, Township 4, Comox Land District as shown on Maps 1 & 2.

Purpose of proposed Bylaws: Bylaw No. 446, if adopted, would re-designate the aforementioned lands from Rural and Upland Resource to Rural Residential Community (Map 1) and Bylaw No. 447, if adopted, would rezone the lands from Rural One (RU-1) and Upland Resource 40 (UR-40) to Rural Residential Community One (RRC-1) to facilitate the creation of a 34-lot rural residential subdivision (Map 2).

Copies of the proposed bylaws and related information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District Customer Service Centre, located at #102 – 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from June 1, 2022 until June 15, 2022. The Bylaws and associated staff reports are also linked below.

The public hearing will be held by a delegation of Electoral Area Directors representing the SRD Board. The public may participate either in-person, virtually via: https://srd.ca/meetnow or by telephone via the teleconference number and conference ID provided above. Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaws will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing, as either in-person speakers, call-in speakers or virtual speakers during the comments portion of the hearing.

Written submissions from persons who are attending the hearing virtually or unable to attend in-person must be delivered by hand or electronically to the Regional District office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in order to be considered as part of the public hearing record. The SRD cannot consider any representations made after the close of the public hearing.
