BYLAW NO. 545 – TO REPEAL BYLAW NO. 1155, BEING ELECTORAL AREA ‘G’ ZONING BYLAW, 1990
Start Time for Bylaw 545: 5:00 p.m.
Subject Area for Bylaw 545: That part of Electoral Area ‘G’ (now Electoral Area ‘A’) as shown on Map 1 below.
Purpose of Bylaw 545: To repeal Bylaw 1155 in its entirety due to its limited applicability to current planning and land use authority in the Strathcona Regional District.

BYLAW NO. 546 – TO REPEAL BYLAW NO. 2256, BEING FAIR HARBOUR ZONING BYLAW, 2000
Start Time for Bylaw 546: Immediately following the hearing for Bylaw No. 545.
Subject Area for Bylaw 546: That part of Electoral Area ‘G’ (now Electoral Area ‘A’) as shown on Map 2 below.
Purpose of Bylaw 546: To repeal Bylaw 2256 in its entirety due to its lack of applicability to current planning and land use authority in the Strathcona Regional District.

BYLAW NO. 539 – CAMPBELL RIVER AREA ZONING BYLAW, 1991, Amendment No. 70
Start Time for Bylaws 538 and 539: Immediately following the hearing for Bylaw No. 546.
Subject Area for Bylaws 538 and 539: Land legally described as Lot 1, Section 34, Township 4, Comox District, Plan 43648 Exc. Part in Plan VIP56119 as shown on Maps 3 & 4 below.
Purpose: Bylaw No. 538, if adopted, would re-designate the westerly 8000 square metres of the subject area from Country Residential (CR) to Residential (R), whereas Bylaw No. 539, if adopted, would (a) amend the Residential Two (R-2) zone to reduce the minimum lot area to 2000 square metres and to permit on any lot size, one single family dwelling plus one secondary suite, or one duplex; (b) rezone the westerly 8000 square metres of the subject area from Country Residential Four (CR-4) to Residential Two (R-2) and the balance of the subject area from Country Residential Four (CR-4) to Country Residential Three (CR-3), to facilitate subdivision of the land into four residential lots and a 1.1-hectare residual.

Copies of the proposed bylaws and related information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District (SRD) Customer Service Centre, located at 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from May 6 until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, excluding the public holiday on May 20.
The public hearings for Bylaw Nos. 545 and 546 will be chaired by the Director of Electoral Area A and the hearings for Bylaw Nos. 538 and 539 will be chaired by the Director for Electoral Area D, both representing the SRD Board. Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaws repeals or amendments will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearings. Persons unable to attend the hearings can submit signed written submissions to form part of the public hearing record provided submissions are delivered via post, by hand to the SRD Community Services Desk or electronically to planning@srd.ca no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Submissions that do not meet the above requirements or are made after the close of the public hearings cannot be considered.
