Community Broadband Plans
The Let's Connect Forums took place in 7 communities within the regional district throughout a two week block in June of 2019. Presentations from guest speakers and videos showcasing possibilities for a digital future while gathering ideas from the community about their current state of use as well as plans for housing, economic, environmental and social developments took place.
Connected Coast
This project will bring new or improved high-speed internet accessibility to 154 rural and remote coastal communities, including 56 Indigenous communities representing 44 First Nations, along the BC coast from north of Prince Rupert, to Haida Gwaii, south to Vancouver, and around Vancouver Island.

Public Library Capital Financing
Under the terms of the proposed agreement the SRD would lend up to $14 million to the VIRL for the construction of a new public library facility.
REC-REATE
In 2013, the SRD started a process to review and evaluate recreation programs and services at Strathcona Gardens, with the goal of addressing aging components of the facility while continuing to provide our high level of service in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
