Parties interested in speaking to the Strathcona Regional District (SRD) Board during a meeting must submit a Delegation Request. Typically, delegations happen at a regular meeting of the Regional Board or a Board committee. Meetings typically take place monthly. Please review the event calendar to confirm meeting dates.

Delegation Guidelines
- If you wish to appear as a delegation, you must submit a written request or complete the Delegation Request form before the agenda for the meeting is set (usually the week before the meeting).
- Address your request to: Corporate Officer - Strathcona Regional District, 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, BC V9W 7Z8 or by email to administration@srd.ca.
- Your request should clearly identify the name of the delegation/group, purpose of the delegation and the names and contact information of the individuals proposing to appear as a delegation.
- Clearly indicate what is being requested from the Regional District (such as funding, a letter of support, a change in bylaw or to provide information).
- If you are looking for financial assistance, please attach a budget for your project which shows expected sources of revenue.
- Delegations are not opportunities for debate, discussion or questioning of the Board regarding its policies or decisions.
- You will get confirmation of the delegation schedule when the meeting agenda is set.
- If you wish to have materials circulated to Board members, please provide them to the Corporate Officer as soon as possible before the Board meeting so they can be circulated with the agenda.
- Email your PowerPoint presentations to administration@srd.ca.
- You may provide paper copies of your presentation as backup, in case of system failure.
- If you need presentation equipment (such as a presentation projector or flipchart stand), please advise the Corporate Officer well in advance so that arrangements can be made, and the equipment can be tested before the meeting.
- You will have a maximum of 10 minutes to make your presentation.
- Delegations are generally heard at the beginning of the meeting, but this may vary depending on the contents of the agenda for any given meeting.
- Following the presentation, you may be questioned by Board members. After questioning is complete, you will be asked to be seated. Decisions on the subject matter of the presentation may or may not be made at the same meeting, depending on factors including the need for additional evaluation. Members of the delegation are welcome to stay and listen to the remainder of the public meeting.

Additional Considerations
- To ensure enough time is available to conduct the regular business of the SRD, the number of delegations at any meeting may be limited. Please contact the SRD early to avoid disappointment.
- Presentation equipment is available on a limited basis. Arrangements must be made in advance.
- Preparedness will maximize your allocated presentation time.
