The Strathcona Regional District is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone attending Board meetings.
Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings as observers. However, participation is limited to individuals who have been approved as a delegation in advance. See Delegation Request Process. Members of the public may not speak during the meeting unless requested by the Chair.
When elected representative(s) are present at the Board meeting, they can debate any issues on behalf of constituents with other Board members.
To help meetings run smoothly, we ask all attendees to:
- Remain quiet and observe without interrupting
- Refrain from speaking, commenting, or reacting during discussions
- Follow the direction of the Chair at all times
- Turn off or silence all electronic devices
- Leave any signage, banners, or displays outside the boardroom
- Respect occupancy limits, as space is restricted for safety reasons
We also expect everyone to behave respectfully. This means:
- No aggressive, bullying, or harassing behaviour
- No rude or offensive language
- No actions that disrupt or delay the meeting
Anyone who does not follow these expectations may be asked to leave.
