Seawave Park was created when the surrounding neighbourhood was subdivided in 1990. In 1998, the undeveloped lot (Lot D) adjacent to the park was acquired by the Regional District as an addition to the original park lands.

Natural Features
The park includes a salmon bearing stream and the adjacent riparian area, providing habitat for fish, wildlife and rare plants.
