BYLAW NO. 536 – QUADRA ISLAND ZONING BYLAW, 1990, Amendment No. 146

Start time: 6:30 p.m.
Area affected: The subject area is legally described as the portion of Lot 1, District Lot 208, Sayward District, Plan VIP86955 as shown on Maps 1 & 2 below.
Purpose: Bylaw No. 535, if adopted, would re-designate the subject parcel from Silviculture to Rural Residential (Map 1) and Bylaw No. 536, if adopted, would rezone the subject parcel from Rural One (RU-1) to Rural Two (RU-2) (Map 2) to facilitate a proposed twenty-two lot rural residential subdivision.
Copies of the proposed bylaws and related information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District Customer Service Centre, located at 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from May 27, 2024 until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The bylaws and associated staff reports may also be viewed on the Strathcona Regional District website at www.srd.ca.
The public hearing will be chaired by the Director of Electoral Area C representing the SRD Board. Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaw will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing. Persons unable to attend the hearing can submit signed written submissions to form part of the public hearing record provided submissions are delivered via post, by hand to the SRD Community Services Desk or electronically to planning@srd.ca no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Submissions that do not meet the above requirements or are made after the close of the public hearing cannot be considered.
