Advisory Planning Commission

Advising on planning and land use management in the SRD.

About the Advisory Planning Commission (APC)

The role of an APC is to provide advice and recommendations to the Regional Board on matters that have been referred to the APC including official community plans, zoning, development variances and temporary use applications.

In each of the four electoral areas in the Strathcona Regional District for which planning and land use management is conducted, the electoral area director may opt to establish an advisory planning commission (APC) in accordance with the Local Government Act of BC and appoint members of the public to that APC for a term of three years. When positions become available on the APC, calls for expressions of interest will be posted to this page.

The SRD currently has APCs in Electoral Area ‘C’ (Discovery Islands and Mainland Inlets) and Electoral Area ‘D’ (Oyster Bay – Buttle Lake)
