NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BYLAW NO. 364 – OYSTER BAY / BUTTLE LAKE COMMUNITY PLAN BYLAW, 1996, Amendment No. 21
BYLAW NO. 365 – CAMPBELL RIVER AREA ZONING BYLAW, 1991, Amendment No. 55
Date of Public Hearing: Thursday, October 24, 2019
Location of Public Hearing: Ocean Room (Oceanfront building), Ocean Resort, 4384 South Island Highway, Campbell River BC
Public Hearing to commence at: 7:00 p.m.
Area affected by proposed Bylaws: The subject property is described as the N ½ of NE ¼ Section 29, Township 4, Comox District, Plan 552C except Plan 376RW as shown on the maps below.
Purpose of proposed Bylaws: The bylaws, if adopted, would re-designate and rezone a 31.6-hectare parcel situated at Chantrelle Way, Electoral Area D from Upland Resource / Upland Resource 40 (UR-40) to Country Residential / Country Residential Four (CR-4) on the west portion and Rural / Rural One (RU-1) on the east portion to facilitate the creation of two homestead lots on the property.
Copies of the proposed bylaws and related information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District Customer Service Centre, located at #102 – 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., from Friday, October 11, 2019 until Thursday, October 24, 2019, with the exception of the statutory holiday occurring Monday, October 14.
The public hearing will be held by a delegation of Electoral Area directors representing the Strathcona Regional District Board. Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaws will be given an opportunity to be heard or to file a written submission at the public hearing.
Written submissions from persons who are unable to attend the public hearing must be delivered by hand or electronically to the Regional District office no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in order to be considered as part of the public hearing record. The Strathcona Regional District cannot consider any representations made after the close of the public hearing.
