Street Lighting
The Strathcona Regional District provides Street Lighting services to the Quathiaski Cove area of Quadra Island, and some portions of Electoral Area D.
Residents now have the ability to report street light outages on line directly through the BC Hydro website.
Residents will need to provide the pole number or the physical address nearest the pole and customers contact information (name, address and phone/email).
Street Lighting within the five municipalities within the Strathcona Regional District (Campbell River, Tahsis, Sayward, Gold River and Zeballos) is provided by the municipalities.
Road Maintenance, Snow Removal & Ditching
Road maintenance for residents living in rural portions of the Strathcona Regional District – i.e. outside of municipal boundaries – is the responsibility of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI), who has contracted the maintenance work to Mainroad.

Mainroad Contracting encompasses the Comox Valley, Campbell River, (Port McNeill and Port Hardy), along with the smaller municipalities, which includes Sayward, Gold River, Tahsis, and Zeballos, as well as service to Quadra Island and Cortes Island
Mainroad maintains a 24 hour hotline and encourages the public to report changing road conditions or emergency situations that could cause a hazard to the driving public: 1-877-215-7122.
