BYLAW NO. 351 – QUADRA ISLAND ZONING BYLAW, 1990, Amendment No. 126
Date of Public Hearing: Wednesday, June 12, 2019
Location of Public Hearing: Quadra Island Community Centre, 970 West Road, Quathiaski Cove BC
Public Hearing to commence at: 7:00 p.m.
Area affected by proposed Bylaw: The subject area is described as District Lots 1821 and 2526 and unsurveyed Crown foreshore or land covered by water being part of the bed of Cordero Channel, Range 1, Coast District, containing 2.57 hectares, more or less, as shown on the map below
Purpose of proposed Bylaw: The bylaw, if adopted, would rezone District Lots 1821 and 2526 from Rural Three (RU-3) to Commercial Two D (C-2D) and approximately 2.57 hectares of unsurveyed Crown foreshore from Access Two (AC-2) to Marine Commercial One (MC-1) and Access One (AC-1) to facilitate an expansion of the Fisherman’s Landing resort and to bring a commercial dock and a private residential dock into compliance with the zoning bylaw.
Copies of the proposed bylaw and related information are available for inspection at the Strathcona Regional District Customer Service Centre, located at #102 – 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from May 31, 2019, until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
The public hearing will be held by a delegation of Electoral Area directors representing the Strathcona Regional District Board. Anyone who believes their interests are affected by the proposed bylaw will be given an opportunity to be heard or to file a written submission at the public hearing.
Written submissions from persons who are unable to attend the public hearing must be delivered by hand or electronically to the Regional District office no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, in order to be considered as part of the public hearing record. The Strathcona Regional District cannot consider any representations made after the close of the public hearing.
