Fire Ban Throughout All of SRD
CATEGORY 1 FIRES (CAMPFIRE/BEACH FIRE) BAN NOW IN EFFECT THROUGHOUT ALL OF THE STRATHCONA REGIONAL DISTRICT!
CATEGORY 1 FIRES (CAMPFIRE/BEACH FIRE) BAN NOW IN EFFECT THROUGHOUT ALL OF THE STRATHCONA REGIONAL DISTRICT!
Effective today – Thursday, June 29th at 12:00 noon, Category 1 Open Fire (campfires) will once again be prohibited in the Sunshine Coast Natural Forest Resource District. All other prohibitions remain unchanged.
Category 2 and Category 3 Prohibitions Remain in Place
Restricted equipment and activities include:
- Fireworks
- Sky lanterns
- Burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description
- Binary exploding targets
- Air curtain burners
- Chimineas
- Tiki and similar kinds of torches

- All of Electoral Area A (Sayward Valley)
- All of Electoral Area B (Cortes Island)

- All of Electoral Area D (Oyster Bay / Buttle Lake) EXCEPT for the area within the Black Creek / Oyster Bay Fire Protection Local Area.
