The Strathcona Regional District (SRD), Quadra Island Emergency Program and Quadra Island Fire Department are excited to announce that they are co-hosting the Quadra Island Disaster Preparedness Expo. The Expo is scheduled from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday May 14th at the Quadra Island Community Centre at 970 West Road.
Residents from all communities in the SRD and Vancouver Island are invited to attend.
The Disaster Preparedness Expo is free to the public and is a fun way to build community resilience and get your family better prepared for a disaster.
- Shop for disaster preparedness supplies from a wide variety of different vendors
- Connect with a variety of different organizations involved in disaster preparedness and response
- Learn how you can be better prepared for a disaster
- Great education and fun for the whole family
Representatives from the SRD Connected Coast Project team will also be on site to answer any questions community members may have about the project and will help register property owners for fibre drop home installations. Free fibre home installations are available while construction crews are on site and there is no commitment needed to sign up for services. To avoid construction delays, it is best to register your home as soon as possible.
For more information, FAQs or to register online for your free fibre home installation, please visit www.citywest.ca/dropping-in. The Connected Coast project (joint venture between Strathcona Regional District & CityWest) is bringing high-speed fibre-optic internet to 139 communities along BC’s coast & Vancouver Island.
